What Is Sync Vault Connector?

Sync Vault Connector is a lightweight extension framework provided by Sync Vault. It runs on top of the Sync Vault Runtime and dynamically loads user-defined JavaScript implementations to extend and reuse Sync Vault’s underlying infrastructure—such as video playback, cloud drive synchronization, P2P communication, and more—thereby delivering a user experience better tailored to specific usage scenarios.

Examples

  • Bilibili Video Notes: Users can define custom video sources via connectors, such as videos from Bilibili, enabling Sync Vault—which does not natively recognize Bilibili videos—to play Bilibili videos while directly leveraging the native video note capabilities. • Importing Agent Sessions into Obsidian: By using Sync Vault’s cloud backup capabilities for multi-device backup and restoration, Agent sessions can be synchronized across multiple devices.

As the architecture evolves, an increasing number of capabilities will be exposed in the form of Connectors. The Connector SDK source code is open-sourced. Click here to view the repository.

Current Stage

At the current stage, the focus is on providing more flexible and powerful video processing capabilities to meet the needs of users working with different types of video. Through custom Video Source Connectors, users can flexibly connect their own video sources, for example:

  • Bilibili videos
  • Xiaohongshu videos
  • Publicly accessible online videos
  • Videos on a personal NAS

Future Directions

Future development directions include Document Connectors, Message Connectors, Agent Connectors, and more.
